Within just a few minutes from either Sierre or Sion, you reach the high plateau of Crans-Montana. There, you may enjoy an unobstructed view on the majestic peaks that reach above 4000 meters. In this inspiring setting, Switzerland’s golfing pioneers had the right idea. As early as 1906, they inaugurated the first golf course, since redesigned by champion Severiano Ballesteros. Verbier Golf-Club

Golf at the heights! From Martigny, it only takes about 20 minutes to reach the village of Verbier. The Esserts golf course overlooks the resort, at an altitude of about 1500 meters. From this point, there is a breathtaking panoramic view of the Combins and Mont Blanc mountains. With optimal sun exposure, this golf course always enjoys comfortable temperatures, even in the middle of summer, thanks to its high altitude. The Esserts links are distinguished by their exceptional botanical diversity and their original form: the holes are positioned on stepped plateaus that wind their way down to the village. From the clubhouse, players are taken by bus to the first hole, 200 meters up, under the attentive gaze of the nearly tame Alpine marmots that follow golfers’ every move. This course requires a high degree of technical skill with high precision and a good deal of thinking, because of the narrow plateaus, the natural hazards and the bodies of water. A true challenge. Matterhorn Golf Club

Playing golf next to the majestic Matterhorn is a unique experience! The road that leads to the golf course from Visp (about 30 minutes) makes its way through an impressive landscape. Upon arrival, just as you leave the village of Randa, you discover a course that is perfectly integrated with the grandeur of its natural setting of imposing mountains. From this viewpoint, the view over the Klein Matterhorn and the Breithorn is striking. At the Matterhorn golf course, there is a pleasantly timeless atmosphere, which is reinforced by the presence of the small red train that climbs to Zermatt, on a line that runs alongside the golf course. Sierre Golf-Club

A natural setting, just a few steps from the city! The Sierre Golf Club, opened in 1994, is the first plain golf course in the canton. It is located in Grône, on the edge of the Pouta Fontana nature reserve, about halfway between Sion and Sierre and a few minutes from Crans-Montana. Leuk Golf-Club

This is a demanding golf course in a unique setting! Inaugurated in 2002, the Loèche (Leuk) Golf Club is nestled between the mountains in an open space where the winds dance without restraint. On the Rhône River plain, in the German section of the canton, about 20 km from Loèche-les-Bains (Leukerbad), this location is ideal for those who want to combine some time on the greens with a visit to the spa. Riederalp Golf Club

At an altitude of 2000 meters (the highest in Europe!), the Riederalp Golf Club is located in the Aletsch region, which has been designated as a natural world heritage site by UNESCO. The adventure already begins on the way to the golf course. The traffic-free resort of Riederalp can only be reached by cable car. Source du Rhône Golf Club

This is where the Rhône River begins. It is a symbolic place and a splendid location for a total immersion in golf! To reach the Source du Rhône golf course, you have to go up the Upper Goms Valley, nestled between the Nufenen, Furka and Grimsel passes. With its exceptionally peaceful setting, surrounded by majestic mountains, this golf course is particularly well integrated with the varied, green surrounding landscape.
