TO OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT IN PERSON


1. You need to fill out an application (application form available on request).
2. You need to pay our account set up fee.
3. The application form should be mailed to our office. Please note that in conformity with Swiss law we cannot accept faxed or scanned documents. Therefore, all documents concerning the opening of the account must be sent by post to our physical address in Switzerland.
4. Once we have received payment for our fees and the application form completed and signed, we will send you the Bank Account Application Form by priority mail or e-mail (depending of the account you want to open and the bank).
5. You need to take an appointment with our office in Sion in Switzerland.
6. You have to come in Switzerland with the following documents :
a. Your passport (Your passport must be current and valid. Accounts can never be opened with an identity card or a driver's licence.)
b. Two recent utility bills showing relevant address (less than four months old) as proof of residence (ex. gas, water or electricity).
c. Documents that can prove your economic background (ex. an employment contract, a diploma, etc.)  and the source of your funds (such as a contract for a house sale, a statement from a foreign bank, a bill of sale, a contract for the sale of a business, a recent bank statement form for your existing bank, a receipt from the sale of stock, etc.)
d. The Bank Account Application Form (completed & signed).
7. We can meet you when you arrive in Switzerland and accompany you to the bank to open your account. From then on you deal exclusively with your bank manager.
